Commercial & leisure projects
This building will be a new headquarters and maintenance depot for Fork Rent PLC, a national plant hire and maintenance company specialising in JCB machinery.
As part of their expansion plans the company decided to relocate to a disused gravel extraction site, which will be landscaped and improved as part of the development. The new Fork Rent building will be a simple portal-framed building, with two level offices set into the last bay on the entrance side. Whilst the essential construction of the building will be simple and efficient, we have developed a natural timber screen and cladding system which, combined with an appropriate landscape strategy, will mitigate the visual impact of the proposal within its’ rural setting. The scheme will be a very sustainable commercial development with, for example, rainwater recycling from the roof for vehicle washdown and an air source heat pump for the primary heating / cooling system.
